Purpose:
Performs pre-delivery, inspections, diagnostics, service repair and maintenance work on Turf equipment. Candidate may require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Performs service on all makes of Turf equipment
- Actively promotes and sells dealership specific service programs directly to customers
- Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work order
- Establishes and implements effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory
- Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
- May support and perform set-up/service work on Agriculture equipment
- Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
- Proficient knowledge of selling techniques
- Ability to use Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
- Ability to work flexible/extended hours
- Valid driver’s license required (acceptable on Horizon Equipment insurance)
